The AIA Honolulu Annual Design Awards is Hawaii’s oldest program of its type, held annually since 1958.  Projects submitted by local AIA members to the 59th Annual AIA Honolulu Design Awards will be judged on their merit by a distinguished jury. View 2017 AIA Honolulu Design Awards Information.

June 1: ARE Prep Session "Programming & Analysis"

Register Online Today!

Thursday, June 1, 5:30-7pm, AIA Center for Architecture.

Overview: We will be covered ARE 5.0 Programming & Analysis and the corresponding ARE 4.0 exams that we’re covering are Site Planning & Design / Programming, Planning, & Practice.  We will also review the ARE 4.0 PPP vignette.

Cost:  $10 for AIA/AIAS members and $20 for non-members.


2017 Jason Pettigrew Memorial ARE Scholarship Applications Open

The Jason Pettigrew Memorial ARE Scholarship recognizes significant contributions of emerging professionals and helps defray Architect Registration Examination (ARE) costs.  Run by the Architects Foundation and the AIA Center for Emerging Professionals, this scholarship is open to any Associate Members who are eligible to sit for the ARE.

Community Scholarship Opportunities for Architects

2017 MCAH Scholarship/Golf Tournament for AIA Member High School Children

The 20176 Mason Contractors Association of Hawaii's (MCAH) Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament benefits AIA Honolulu Members by awarding a scholarship to an AIA dependent.

Scholarship Deadline May 31:  The MCAH will be awarding five (5) $2,000 scholarships to high school graduates from the State of Hawaii. Go to MCAH's website for information and online application.


2017 SAME Honolulu Scholarship Program Application

The Society of American Military Engineers (SAME Honolulu) is again offering scholarships to deserving high school seniors and college students who will be or are currently enrolled at a university with an accredited engineering or architecture program. College students currently enrolled in an accredited engineering or architecture program are encouraged to apply for the one-year scholarship ($1,500).  High School seniors who will be enrolled in an accredited engineering or architecture program at a 4-year college/university are encouraged to apply for the 4-year scholarship ($6,000). Application deadline is June 15, 2017 so there's time for your students to apply after they finish school. They just need to request for their transcripts and ask their professors/teachers for reference letters (we require only one reference letter) before school is over.
