Architecture Month Committee

AIA Honolulu's several Architecture Month committees, led by the President-Elect, are responsible for organizing our free and low-cost activities planned for the public when celebrating Architecture Month during the month of April.  These annual events were created to highlight the power of good design in making our communities better places to live, work and play and also generate a discussion of design in Hawaii. Hundreds of island residents and visitors enjoy these architecture and design-related events each April.  The hope is that, by elevating awareness of architecture, the public will be inspired by their surroundings on a daily basis.  Staple events offered each year include the architectural walking tour, firm crawl and film night.  Each event has its own sub-committee.

Architecture Month Committee Goals

  • Actively start planning the events in November for April event dates

  •  Organize logistics for each event

  •  Organize with sister organizations for cross-event planning

  •  Each committee recruits volunteers, creates fliers and graphics and print coordination, etc.

Get Involved

Architecture Month committees consist of AIA Honolulu members and other local design-minded professionals in the community.  The committee chair is the current AIA Honolulu Vice President, and subcommittees are led by volunteer members.
