Sign up today for our annual AIA Honolulu Fellowship Golf Tournament, Tuesday, October 7, 2008

AIA Honolulu is holding their annual Fellowship Golf Tournament this year in conjunction with the AIA Northwest and Pacific Regional Conference.  If you are coming to the conference, and we hope you will -- you can sign up for golf as part of your conference registration.

Registered for the conference already but forgot to sign up for Golf? Or perhaps you cannot attend the full conference due to schedul conflicts?  No worries, we have you covered!

Canstruction® Comes Down on Sunday, September 7, 2008

It's time for De-Canstruction! The 3rd Annual AIA Honolulu Canstruction® competition was a huge success. You still have another day to come out to Pearlridge Center (UPTOWN--Macy's wing)  to view all entries and cast your votes by donating canned goods to the entry of your choice.

DE-CANSTRUCTION AND AWARDS CEREMONY, SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 7, 10 AM

 Join our teams on Sunday, September 7th, Pearlridge Center, Center Court (UPTOWN) for the awards presentation beginning at 10 AM.   Immediately following this short ceremony, all team members and friends will take down and box all of their canned food donations for delivery to the Hawaii Foodbank.  The entire Sunday event should end by 1 PM depending on how many helping hands the teams can round up.  This is your last chance this year to support the teams and the Hawaii Foodbank.

AIA Honolulu Staffing Update

As we reported last week, Camilla Nicholas, our ever-reliable Web and Advertising Coordinator is on unplanned emergency medical leave and will be out of the office for an as-yet undetermined period of time.  Thanks for your understanding and patience as we adjust to Camilla's unexpected temporary departure.  Please join us in wishing her a speedy recovery during  this challenging time.  For those requesting assistance, we will do our best to get back to you as soon as possible.

Earn Needed AIA/CES LUs (HSW): Sign up Now for Hawaii 2008

As stated above the 2008 AIA Northwest & Pacific Regional Conference will offer local AIA members an amazing opportunity to fulfill continuing education requirements for the Annual AIA membership: 18 AIA/CES Learning Units per year, of which 8 LUs must be health, safety and welfare (HSW).  They can also apply these learning units to fulfill mandatory State Licensing Requirements.  AIA Honolulu is currently in the process of registering all conference educational sessions and in the middle of next week we should have  the educational sessions featured on our website.  View the entire program at a glance

September 7 De-Canstruction® and Award's Ceremony

On Sunday, September 7 beginning at 10 AM at Pearlridge Center Uptown:  presentation of trophies in an awards ceremony including announcement of People's Choice Award and most food donated by any one team. Following awards, Canstruction teams will participate in De-canstruction of food, for delivery to Hawaii Foodbank. Your canned goods donations/votes accepted through Sept. 6.  Help those in need!

September 17 Free IBC Seismic Code and Ceiling Installation Req.

NEW! 2008 AIA Contract Documents now available!  In 2008 the AIA is pleased to provide four new Integrated Project Delivery documents.  The updated revisions include AIA Documents A195–2008, A295–2008, B195–2008 and C195–2008.  In 2007 AIA also launched update AIA Contract Documents which included revisions to A201-1997 and nearly 50 owner/architect, architect/consultant, and contractor/subcontractor agreements.
