2018 Legislation Affecting Land Use and Planning


Topic: David Arakawa will be speaking about recent legislation that affects land use and the planning profession and will offer a behind the scenes look at the legislative process. Come prepared to ask questions!


Speaker Bio: David Arakawa has served as Executive Director of the Land Use Research Foundation of Hawai‘i since 2007. Prior to that, he was a Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary with Hawaiian Airlines, Corporation Counsel for the City and County of Honolulu, an associate and partner at Fujiyama Duffy and Fujiyama, and a deputy prosecutor doing Career Criminal and Organized Crime trials. Dave is a current member of the Honolulu Tourism Authority, the Aiea Neighborhood Board, and various non-profit cultural organizations.
