Professional Development Session
How Developers are Preparing for the Next Phase

Prior to the spread of COVID-19, ongoing and planned projects were running at full steam. With social distancing in place and a recession on the horizon, the real estate market is sure to undergo a significant transformation.

This session explores what steps developers from Howard Hughes Corp. are taking to hit the ground running once restrictions lift, and their strategies for a remade construction market.

In this session, we’ll explore:

  • Strategies for the “new” construction market:
    • What types of design work will be continued and what will be put on pause
    • Changes being made in future building designs
  • COVID-19 effects on design & development in the workplace and homes
    • Future-proofing buildings for social distancing requirements
    • Accommodating home and workplaces for remote work and telecommuting
  • Economic implications:
    • Understanding the implications of the pandemic from a developer perspective
