It spans 58\,000 square feet and has been occupied since December 2021\, housing 250 occupants. The building integrates sustainable urban agriculture\, including a rooftop apiary and sidewalk landscaping\, though maintaining these features has posed challenges. AIA Honolulu has pulled together a great event with PAE Sr Principal - Alan Shepherd presenting the World's First Developer Driven Living Building. \n\n	\n\n\n	\n		\n	\n				\n					\n	\n	\n\n\n\n	\n\n\n			\n	\n	\n		\n	The PAE Living Building is a groundbreaking commercial structure in Portland\, Oregon\, designed to meet the Living Building Challenge standards. It spans 58\,000 square feet and has been occupied since December 2021\, housing 250 occupants. The building integrates sustainable urban agriculture\, including a rooftop apiary and sidewalk landscaping\, though maintaining these features has posed challenges.
