SUMMARY:NAVFAC Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Architecture Month: Photography Workshop with Olivier Koning\nIn Memory of Ted Garduque\, FAIA\, (1951-2022) whose passion for art and photography made this workshop successful for many years. \nSpend the day with a renowned photographer and learn strategies & techniques to capture successful photography. The workshop will include a lecture in the morning followed by a photoshoot at the beautiful Alexander & Baldwin lobby. \nWe will remain as a group so our photographer can share strategies and answer questions while out on assignment. After lunch\, the group will return to the CFA for afternoon crits and further discussion. \nAgenda: \n\n9am-10:30am: Attendees meet at the Center for Architecture for a discussion lead by Olivier about photography.\n10:30am-12pm: The group will walk over to the beautiful Alexander & Baldwin Lobby for a photoshoot session.\n12pm-1pm: Brown bag lunch and meet back at the Center for Architecture to eat and select 3-4 images for formal critique.\n1pm-3pm: Attendees will share their images with the group and receive critique and tips from our photographer.\n\nPhotographer: Honolulu-based photographer Olivier Koning has been a resident of Hawai'i for over 40 years and both attended the University of Hilo and Manoa. It is during his 10 years with the international architectural firm Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo that he developed a keen sense for architectural photography. He has been freelancing for the past 20 years. \nWhat to bring: Please bring your own camera (with ideally at least a wide-angle lens since the Lobby is a bit tight) or phone to take photos with\, as well as a tripod if you have one.
