DESCRIPTION:AIA Honolulu Architectural Walking Tour of Downtown\nThe Architectural Walking Tour of Downtown Honolulu is a rare treat for local residents and visitors to explore the area through the eyes of an architect or architectural historian. \nEach tour provides architectural and historical insights about the fascinating buildings in Honolulu’s downtown and Capitol District. \nTour Groups: Tour groups must be between 4-14 people to take place. Advanced reservations are required. If less than 4 people sign up\, the tour will be cancelled and a full refund will be issued to anyone already registered. \nTour Cost: $25.00/person paid online. Registration is generally open until 4PM Friday before the tour date\, unless the tour fills up early or is cancelled. Walk-in registrations are not allowed. Tour availability is on a first come\, first served basis and may close earlier than the registration deadline! \nBooklet: A historic booklet can be purchased for $5.00 (optional). Purchase it online or on the day of the tour (cash only-exact change). Booklets can be added on in the virtual shopping cart before checkout. \nLocation & Parking: The tour will begin at AIA Honolulu’s Center for Architecture at the corner of Fort Street Mall and Queen Street. Parking at the Oceanit Building is currently closed during weekends\, however\, some street parking might be available. The Westbound Route 4 bus stops right outside of our Center\, and various other TheBus lines have stops within a 5 minute walk. DESCRIPTION:Architecture Month: Photography Workshop with Olivier Koning (5 LU)\nIn Memory of Ted Garduque\, FAIA\, (1951-2022) whose passion for art and photography made this workshop successful for many years. \n\n\n\n			\n	\n	Spend the day with a renowned photographer and learn strategies & techniques to capture successful photography. The workshop will include a lecture in the morning followed by a photoshoot in the beautiful downtown Honolulu. \nWe will remain as a group so our photographer can share strategies and answer questions while out on assignment. After lunch\, the group will return to the CFA for afternoon crits and further discussion. \nAgenda: \n\n9am-10:30am: Attendees meet at the Center for Architecture for a discussion lead by Olivier about photography.\n10:30am-12pm: The group will walk through downtown Honolulu for a photoshoot session.\n12pm-1pm: Brown bag lunch and meet back at the Center for Architecture to eat and select 3-4 images for formal critique.\n1pm-3pm: Attendees will share their images with the group and receive critique and tips from our photographer.\n\nPhotographer: Honolulu-based photographer Olivier Koning has been a resident of Hawai'i for over 40 years and both attended the University of Hilo and Manoa. It is during his 10 years with the international architectural firm Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo that he developed a keen sense for architectural photography. He has been freelancing for the past 20 years. \nWhat to bring:\n \n\n\nCamera\n\n\nLens (wide-angle to “normal”)\n\n\nLaptop\n\n\nTripod (if possible)\n\n\nCard reader (if possible)\n\n\n\nParticipants should be able to download their photos to their own computers or to the AIA office computer. DESCRIPTION:Architecture Month: Photography Workshop with Olivier Koning (5 LU)\nIn Memory of Ted Garduque\, FAIA\, (1951-2022) whose passion for art and photography made this workshop successful for many years. \n\n\n\n			\n	\n	Spend the day with a renowned photographer and learn strategies & techniques to capture successful photography. The workshop will include a lecture in the morning followed by a photoshoot in the beautiful downtown Honolulu. \nWe will remain as a group so our photographer can share strategies and answer questions while out on assignment.
