A champion of equity and innovation\, she is committed to academic excellence and advancing UH as a Native Hawaiian Place of Learning. \nPreviously\, Hensel served as Executive Vice Chancellor and University Provost at The City University of New York\, where she led initiatives to improve student success\, expand virtual degree programs\, and align academics with workforce needs. She also held key leadership roles at Georgia State University\, including Provost and Dean of the College of Law\, and played a pivotal role in navigating the COVID-19 pandemic. \nA legal scholar in disability law and ethics\, Hensel has published extensively and advocates for inclusive education and employment. Before academia\, she practiced law and served as a federal judicial clerk.
