AIA Scholarship Program
The AIA Honolulu Architecture Scholarship Program began in 2009, and is jointly administered by the University of Hawaii School of Architecture. The scholarship program annually awards grants to two architectural students in support of their studies in architecture.

In 2018 the School of Architecture Scholarship Committee, selected the below students to receive our AIA Honolulu Scholarship.

- Branden Keola Annino (Undergraduate Student)
- Khoa Nguyen (Graduate Student)
In 2018 AIA Honolulu together with additional grant support from AIA National will award scholarship in the amount of $1000 each to both students, for the academic year 2018-2019.
A special annual luncheon celebrating student academic accomplishments was held Friday, April 20, 2018 at The Willows.

To be eligible the recipient must:
- Be enrolled full-time as undergraduate or graduate student
- Completed at least two years of study at the University of Hawai'i School of Architecture
- Minimum GPA must be 3.0
- Submit a letter of introduction and samples of work with a one page description of concepts
Student applicants are judged on their overall ability, desire,
determination and potential for successfully completing their
architectural education. Consideration is taken for the concepts presented in the following special interests: Sense of Place, Sustainability, Alternative Energy Systems and New Technologies for Environmental Systems.
Funding the Scholarship Program
Funding for the AIA Honolulu Scholarship Program comes from the Chapter's general funds which draws its support from key Chapter program. As a local Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), AIA Honolulu applies to receive additional grant support from AIA National to supplement our locally contributed funds. The AIA National Component desires to support local and state Components and/or their affiliated foundations to provide and develop scholarship programs.
