About the book club

As part of AIA Hawaiʻi’s Centennial celebration, we’re hosting a special 2026 book club series centered on thought-provoking reads connected to architecture — from design and culture to history, climate, and the ways our built environment shapes everyday life. You don’t need to be an architect (or finish the book!) to join.

Each gathering features a guest speaker who brings the book’s ideas to life and connects them to Hawaiʻi, all in a thoughtfully chosen venue that encourages conversation.

Whether you read every page, skim a chapter, or just come to listen and talk story, the AIA Hawaiʻi Book Club is about curiosity, community, and exploring how the places around us influence how we live.
