Section 4.7.1. of the Chapter Bylaws also specifies that Nominating of officers and directors of this Chapter about to become vacant, excluding public director vacancies as noted in section 6.2, shall be made at the annual meeting from the floor.

Who Can Vote During Our Annual Business Meeting? As stated in the Bylaws, all AIA members and Associate AIA members in good standing for 2026, and assigned by the Institute to this Chapter as their primary membership, are eligible to vote at this meeting. Local allied members may attend but may not vote at this meeting.

Vote by Limited Proxy: An eligible member may vote by proxy for the limited purpose of the election of directors and officers, provided that the members certify he/she will not be in a 25-mile radius of the meeting location at the date of the meeting. The proxy shall be executed in writing and sent to the Secretary of the Chapter prior to the meeting on October 21. You can email AIA Honolulu at contact@aiahonolulu.org and upon request you will be provided with instructions to execute your vote.
