Junior Architect

Description

Guerin Glass Architects is currently seeking a Junior Architect to join our Honolulu team.

Candidates must have a professional degree in Architecture and a minimum of 2 years of office experience. They should have comprehensive design and documentation skills and be able to demonstrate a background in residential, hospitality and/or commercial design. The successful candidate will be a resourceful multi-tasker with excellent communication skills. Expectations:

Professional degree in architecture, plus at least 2 years of related experience. Full-time entry level professional performing basic architectural assignments. Takes on a variety of assignments requiring the application of standard architectural techniques for small projects or selected segments of a larger project. Performs analyses of design, planning and occupancy studies and limited design layouts. Prepares project specs, compiling and analyzing relevant data.

Responsibilities:

o Assisting throughout the project lifecycle by:
o Researching for design concept and precedent
o Assembling presentation documentation for project and client meetings
o Including physical models and 3D renderings as needed
o Researching building materials, construction techniques, and building codes
o Assisting with design development and production of construction documents
o Coordinating with outside consultants
o Including review of shop drawings to ensure quality control and compliance with design intent
o Facilitating overall team communication by maintaining office standards

Requirements:

o Must be proficient in AutoCAD and Revit
o Must have experience in Microsoft Office, BluBeam Revu, and Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator)
o Experience in Rhino, Grasshopper, and Enscape ,Edited would be a plus
o Time management skills
o Strong communication, writing, and graphic design skills
o Proactive and collaborative
o Detail oriented, highly organized, and efficient
