to the HAF, we are launching the Civic Leadership Scholarship.

Introducing the Civic Leadership Scholarship

The Civic Leadership Scholarship supports AIA Hawaii members who wish to attend advocacy-focused conferences and leadership events, including the State Government Network (SGN), Government Affairs Forum (GAF) Summit, Leadership Summit, and AIA Hill Day.

How to Apply

Submit an online application below, including:

  • A statement of interest (300–500 words)
  • A current resume
  • A statement of financial need is optional but encouraged, as it may assist the selection committee in its review.

Selection Criteria

Preference will be given to first-time attendees of these events.

Recipients will be selected by a representative from AIA Hawaii State Council and the AIA Hawaii Executive Vice President in consultation with a representative from the Hawaii Architectural Foundation Grants and Scholarships Committee.

Recipient Requirements

Scholarship recipients are required to submit a brief reflection on their conference experience in either written or video format. Recipients are also encouraged to engage in legislative advocacy efforts through AIA committees at the state or local level.

This scholarship is an investment in developing future leaders who will help advance the architectural profession and advocate for Hawai‘i’s built environment.
