Membership Status Change

Change from Assoc. AIA to AIA

Congratulations on passing the ARE exams and becoming a licensed architect!

Download the Architect Membership Elevation Form and email it directly to AIA National at memberservices@aia.org.

Change to Member Emeritus

A Member Emeritus is an architect member who has applied for and been granted emeritus status by the Institute as set out in the Institute’s Bylaws. Emeritus members are not required to fulfill the AIA/CES requirement to retain membership.

Are you an AIA member retiring from the profession? We would still like for you to be involved with AIA Honolulu!

Membership Lapsed?

AIA members who do not renew their membership by April 15, 2023 will be lapsed.

Lapsed architect members no longer have the right to use the AIA (or Assoc. AIA designation for associate members).

Transferring In/Out of the State?

At the written request of a member, the Institute shall transfer the member’s assignment from one chapter to another provided that the transferring member either lives or works within the territory of the new chapter. AIA Bylaws state that a member must be assigned to a local chapter based on their work or home zip code.

Fill out a Transfer Request Form and email it directly to AIA National at memberservices@aia.org.
