Sunday, October 8th, 1:00 - 3:00PM:

TOUR: Kohanaiki Clubhouse

The architecture is clean, balanced and unadorned. It’s beauty is felt in the materials, balance and proportion. The architecture is calm and frames the rugged natural beauty of the Kona cost. It is the assemble of simple timeless Hawaiian elements such as Hut and Stone Plinth together with Fire and Water that give this Clubhouse Village meaning and belonging on this beautiful Kona coast.

This brand-new resort is still under development, so we recommend closed-toed shoes.

Zak Architecture

Zak Architecture is committed to exceptional design and outstanding craftsmanship, with the goal to move beyond current trends and honor the principles that make good design, and produce extraordinary architecture that will serve and inspire for decades and for generations.

Saturday, October 21st, 1:00 - 3:00PM:

TOUR: D-Fin House

Above Kealakekua Bay, eight columns support a 56 ft. diameter steel clad wood and glass drum. The round shape immerses the occupant into the panoramic view of the Kona coastline. A steep roofed loft sits symmetrically at the back of the circle, like a classic 60s “D” fin surfboard.

Craig Steely Architecture

Taking the classic modernist tradition as a starting point, the work of Craig Steely Architecture is known for its simple, strong forms and clarity of vision. Our focus is working with clients who share our enthusiasm for engaging the design process as a creative endeavor, exploring unique sites, and developing a singular architecture rooted in its Hawaiian context.

Saturday, October 28th, 1:00 - 3:00PM:

TOUR: Hale Ma’alahi

Sited between two distinct microclimates, the home encompasses the intricacies of the Hawaiian spirit. The unassuming palette and long, sloping form of Hale Ma’alahi, or “simple house,” bows to the beauty of its setting.
